Today I am continuing my brown color combos for fall/winter outfits series with green and white tones that bring freshness to your cold weather outfits. I have 6 green + white + brown outfit examples to inspire you in ways to wear the season's trendiest color.
In this post, I am featuring a thrifted green leopard print scarf from my collection that has been my go-to print piece for combining green and brown. It is lightweight enough that I can wear it year-round (in all but the hottest weather), and the colors are as great in winter as they are in spring. While I prefer a long rectangular scarf for maximum versatility, an infinity scarf can be worn multiple ways as well, as we will see in the OOTD photos to come.

Now, on to the outfits...
Outfit #1: St Patrick's Day in 2025 was more lamb than lion with a high of 63F so I celebrated by wearing a lot of white and a bit of brown with my green. I created a variant on the "modern twin set" concept by pairing a white floral print button up shirt over a white tank.

I grounded the look with very dark hunter green pants and brown leather flats.

Fittingly for a warmer day, I skipped the scarf and layered necklaces instead. The top ruffle necklace is another older piece (Target, 2014), and the two lower ones I designed to wear together using primarily a Bargain Bead Box subscription and companion bundle from 2024 plus some items from my stash. I love the color scheme of light brown, beige, warm green, and gold expressed in a combination of dzi agate, riverstone, Czech glass, glass pearls, glass cubes, wood, crystal, and more!

My all-DIY daily bracelet stack is a bit of a hodgepodge because I don't (yet) have a paper bead bracelet set in brown and green! So I put together a stack of various bracelets in those two colors plus gold to coordinate with the layered necklace. {bicone paper bead tutorial} {tube paper bead tutorial} {stretch bracelet tutorial}

I made these earrings to go with the layered necklace as well; I didn't repeat any of the bead patterns from the necklace in my earrings (which is probably the most matchy-matchy way to go), but I stuck to the same colors. I used two picasso jasper beads and three gold spacers in each earring to create simple stacks; the jasper beads are so rich and varied in color that they work beautifully in a very uncomplicated design (see design #2 in this post for more examples of "3 beads or so on a stick" earrings in my collection).

Outfits #2 & #3: These two looks share the featured green leopard scarf with a brown quilted vest, dark green skirt, and brown tights. The only differences are the top layered under the vest (a brown sweater in #2 and a white T in #3) and the color of the tall boots (dark brown in #2 and cognac in #3). I personally prefer how the white lightens up the look and adds some contrast in #3, but #2 shows that you can keep the color combination darker and more traditionally "fall/winter" by eliminating the white.

Outfit #4: Like #3 above, this outfit uses colorblocking (top, bottom, and topper layer in 3 distinctly different colors) for the base outfit, then adds a print scarf to help tie the colors together. Note that the scarf colors don't have to match the garment colors; just having some colors in the same family can do a lot to make the combination look more intentional and cohesive. (See option #6 - the "sorta" bridge piece - in this post for more discussion and examples.)

Outfits #5 & #6: These two outfits share many of the same/similar pieces but result in entirely different looks. Both feature a dark green pullover sweater, brown quilted vest, brown boots, and white/gold scarf. Outfit #5 is very simple and very neutral with a pair of blue denim jeans while Outfit #6 is more of a statement look with a brightly colored, large scale print skirt.

Do you consider brown a good color for winter, or do you tend to reserve it for fall? What versions of green do you prefer to wear? Would you wear green and brown together?
