Welcome back to the monthly edition of Where Bloggers Live! I am lucky to have joined a terrific group of bloggers who give a peek into the places and spaces where they spend their time.
Today's topic is Art and Collectibles...which is a topic I could show photos of from now until the end of time if I were to pull out my boxes of Christmas tree ornaments. But they are deeply ensconced in the closet, so the endless parade of ornaments will have to wait for another day. I took a more limited number of photographs of art and collectibles readily viewable in my apartment, focusing my attention on items that were gifted and/or thrifted. Come join me on a tour...
Gifted: bunny pillow on the upper left with the fuzzy tails from my mom.
Gifted: bunny quilt made by my mother-in-law.
(Other bunny items bought by me.)
The rabbit motif on the quilt continues with the top stitching - cute!
Gifted: 3D pop up card from my husband. The stack of brown and white rabbits is eerily reminiscent of two stuffed rabbits I have that I sometimes stack on each other in exactly this way.
Gifted: Tulsa, OK snow globe from my co-workers at my first job when I left to move to Texas.
Gifted: colorful cat and carpe diem sign from my mother-in-law.
Gifted: personalized piggy bank from the bank my parents used when I was born (which was in the 1970s, can't you tell?).
Gifted: crocheted floral mat made by my mom's sister.
Gifted: Japanese bento box from my sister.
Gifted: another crocheted floral mat made by my mom's sister.
Thrifted: 1970s Frankoma pottery vase purchased in the 1990s.
Gifted: light switch cover from my husband.
Gifted: kingfisher painting from my friend.
Gifted: France image trivet from my mom. (It's weird, I don't actually collect things related to France, but I really like this piece.)
Gifted: hermit thrush mixed media artwork from...hmmm, I think the same friend as the kingfisher.
Gifted: angelfish colored pencil artwork from a friend in high school.
Gifted: cheeky Matisse reproduction improved with coffee mug (and painted with espresso) from my sister.
Gifted: two Matisse paper cut-out prints from my sister.
Gifted: table runner made by my mom's other sister.
Gifted: birthday card made by my mom.
Gifted: doorknob hanger from my husband (hanging on my cardboard lingerie box that I've been using for about 30 years and over multiple moves across the country; part of the College Living 2.0 aesthetic).
Gifted: sweatshirt with a screened photograph of the belovedest bunnies Kate (back) and Leo (front) from my husband.
Gifted (or maybe stolen!): cat figurines that used to belong to my mom until I took them.
Note: the only book in this photo that wasn't a gift was (predictably?) Color Your Style.
Gifted: painted wood rabbit cut-out from my husband.
Thrifted & Gifted: Baccarat crystal rabbit paperweight found by my husband at Goodwill for 25 cents.
Gifted: Marvin the Martian chocolate tin from my husband (long devoid of chocolate since it dates to 1999).
Thrifted: rabbit photo frame (without a photo) from a house rabbit society jumble sale.
Note: all books in this photo were also bought secondhand except Heart of Darkness.
Gifted: posable stickman action figure warning sign from another friend.
Note: definitely more used books here.
Gifted: a fluffle of rabbit figures, including the two white ones in the front that I may have appropriated from my late grandmother's house (shhhh).
Thanks for joining me in sharing some of my gifted and/or thrifted art and collectibles today. To see some of my Alice in Wonderland and Marx Brothers collectibles, check out my previous post about my favorite movies.
Next month's topic is Favorite Kitchen Tools & Appliances...and I do already have a couple of ideas of my absolutely indispensable kitchen favorites (even though my cooking style is well represented by this easy bean soup recipe and this even easier 3 ingredient parfait recipe).
In the meantime, visit these lovely bloggers as they share about their art and collectibles:

Do you have a favorite collectible that people like to give you as gifts...a specific kind of thing (e.g., Christmas ornaments), a specific theme (e.g., rabbits), or specific artist (e.g., Matisse)? Do you like thrifting for collectibles? What is the best collectible you ever snagged secondhand?
Blogs I link up with are listed here.
Fun to see all your collectibles. I love the bird and angelfish paintings. You have some talented friends! Thanks for linking
You have so many wonderful art and collectible pieces. I love that pretty much all of them were gifted to you and that you've kept some (like your piggy bank!) for so long.
I love all the bunnies
Thank you so much for sharing our Linkup in your linkup list. Much appreciated and thanks also for sharing your various links with us at #265 SSPS Linky.
