Halloween/Fall Garden Tour + OOTD x7

With Halloween weekend upon us, I am sharing some seasonally-appropriate photos from the great Zoo Tour of October 2017.

Indianapolis Zoo - October 2017

The Indy Zoo leaned into the macabre for their Halloween decorating. A skeletal pirate captain and his busted up ship attempt to sail the green, plant-ridden dirt with little success, but it doesn't keep him from smiling (creepily).

Chambray floral dress + sandstone coral cardigan-Plus size summer outfit idea for women over 40

A skeletal pirate with a peg leg and questionable fashion sense still wears that one eyepatch even though he's lost both eyes. But the human skull on the ground has lost his entire body, so I guess Eyepatch Pirate is doing well, comparatively. I really like the skeletal parrot he has on his shoulder!

Halloween just isn't Halloween without giant spiders (sorry, Mom)! The one at the lower left is staring right at us with his beady red eyes...ugh!

Missouri Botanical Gardens - October 2017

Outside the Center for Home Gardening at the Missouri Botanical Gardens was a gorgeous display of autumn gourds and ground cover. What a delightful array of colors and textures! Ivory, green, yellow, orange, rust, burgundy, plum...some nice color inspiration here.

The rest of the display had flowers and grasses surrounding a giant metal pumpkin structure filled with actual pumpkins. "But what's that over there?" some visitors looking at the scene next to us asked.

"Groot," my husband said to them. "Yeah, that's Groot." I'm not sure what Groot was doing sleeping in this flower bed...although at some level, the question answers itself. Sleeping is the most obvious thing for him to be doing there.

I wish I knew how to dress like you. For school. But after all these years, it'd be such a shock to the kids that they would probably keel over.

Haha, I hear you about the kids. My dad was a teacher (mostly 6th grade) and the kids definitely noticed what he wore! But I do bet if you made some subtle shifts over time, they would start to get used to it :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
